There are also various degrees of blue showing on some varieties, which holds its blue tone best when not in direct sun. Hostas now range in size from ones that can almost be grown to maturity in a teacup to ones that are almost 6 feet tall. Although hostas are fast growing plants, which allows for dividing and sharing, they make take up to five years or more to reach mature size. They are shade tolerant, but grow in varying conditions from full sun to a shady woodland or damp area near the side of a pond. |
