About te Sligte Gardens


		Our love of gardening lead us to an early retirement and a return to our country roots. We found a piece of land that instantly felt like home and set about the task of changing five acres of farmland into our own backyard.

We soon discovered that our smattering of daylilies, two plain green hostas and five colours of irises really weren’t as impressive as they seemed at the start. After working under the guidance of a friend, we found ourselves hooked on the endless varieties of these wonderful plants.


	After several years and creation of more gardens annually, we find that we’re quickly filling our farm-sized yard. Our collection of over 600 daylilies spreads across most of our existing space, which also includes 200 irises and 500+ varieties of hostas. And we continue to grow ...

A garden is to be enjoyed. With this in mind we have arranged our maze of gardens so that anyone can wander through and enjoy the colours from early May until the first frost, tells us another season has come to an end. Our passion for gardening has introduced us to many fascinating new people, who we’re happy to call friends – come explore our gardens and discover something new for yourself!
